1 cup steel-cut oats
4 cups of liquid (combination of cider and water - I like mostly cider)
2 TBS brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
pinch of salt
2 TBS butter
1 apple
Combine all ingredients in crock pot. Cook on low for 8-9 hours.
NOTE: if you want to use rolled oats rather than steel cut, cut liquid to 2 1/2 cups
NOTE: recipe is for small size crockpot. Double ingredients for larger pot
