1 stick butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 sheath Saltine crackers
1 10 - 12 oz bag of baking chips (butterscotch, peanut butter, chocolate, white chocolate, etc)
Heat oven to 350 degrees
Heat butter and brown sugar in small saucepan until melted. Stir.
Spray baking sheet with non-stick spray.
Lay out Saltine crackers on a baking sheet as if you are laying tile.
Pour melted butter/ sugar mixture over Saltines trying to cover evenly.
Bake Saltines for 15 minutes.
Remove Saltines from oven. They may have spread as the butter mixture cooked – push Saltines back together with spatula. Pour baking chips over Saltines. Wait 5 minutes as the baking chips heat and melt and then spread evenly over Saltines with Spatula.
Place baking sheet in fridge for about ½ hour. Pry Bark from pan and break into morsels. Store and serve.
Enjoy!

We call this cracker candy! My recipe is similar but after I pour the brown sugar and butter mixture over the crackers, I top with a bag of heath bit o' brickle. Once it's out of the oven, I add chocolate (any kind) chips and nuts.
IF YOU USE THE HEATH BITS--IMPORTANT--nonstick spray will NOT be enough!!! I strongly encourage you to use a silicon-coated parchment paper or Reynold's RELEASE Al foil. Otherwise you will have a big sticky mess on your hands--that toffee dries like cement!

OOhhhhhhhhhhh. I forgot about this. Eileen made it last year, and I couldn't keep my hands out of it. She added red/green sprinkly things to make it more festive.
Delicious!!
