Default Crock Pot Mac & Cheese

The grandkids loved this. You could add ground beef if you wanted, or anything else for that matter, like sliced hot dogs or sausage.

    Crock pot Macaroni and Cheese

    8 oz. macaroni
    12 oz. evaporated milk
    1 ½ c. whole milk
2 – 8 oz. sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
    ¼ c. melted butter
    2 eggs

    Grease crock pot.
    Cook macaroni
    Add all ingredients except eggs.
    Let cool somewhat.
    Add eggs.
    Pour into crock pot.
    Cook on low 3 – 4 hrs.

Sounds good, but what do the eggs do?

Eggs probably thicken it? I've made mac n cheese with eggs before and it always turns out kind of eggy tasting. I wonder if you tossed the noodles with a little bit of flour it would be enough to thicken without the eggs?

I honestly didn't know what the eggs did, but it did turn out good. Allie, I think your idea would work just as well. It's an easy thing to throw together for the kids or for a party. If I was taking it to a party, I'd put in spicy sausage or something like that.
