    Default Kohlrabi

Does anyone have any recipes using Kohlrabi? I belong to a crop share, and in my share this week was 5 Kohlrabi. There were a few recipes online, but looking for more. Any thoughts?

I have an elderly aunt who just loves those. She just cooked them up and added butter and salt, and mashed them like potatoes.

Mashed and cooked like joflake said is good. We also make slaw with them I think a vinegar-based slaw is best, but I suppose a mayo-based one would work too. We did one last year with shredded apples, kohlrabi, cider vinegar and shredded carrots. It was pretty good, but I can't find the recipe for it at the moment. I would guess you could replace the cabbage or broccoli in any slaw with kohlrabi.

Grandma always creamed them, I like them raw myself with just salt.

That's the only way I have ever eaten them. Peel, slice, and salt, or eat like an apple with the salt shaker at hand. Will have to try them cooked once.
