I just wanted to thank everyone at Just Labradors for all the support through this incredibly tough time. To think that 98 people that I've never met took the time to write, and almost 500 people looked at the note regarding Ellis' passing. That along with numerous Private Messages, as well as hundreds of emails from all my friends and family. It truly is incredible.

Needless to say it's been a rough few days, and everyone is correct - no words really do help - but knowing that there are people out there that care and understand really does.
I spent the weekend with a brutal headache and sore eyes - trying to create a memorial for my brown boy. Nothing could do him justice - but here you go. note: it is VERY photo intensive:

Ellis memorial slideshow only - warning it alone is 10MB:

I haven't been a super active member of JL, but have enjoyed posting info on my boys, and reading and seeing photos of all of your labs. Now, sadly and very lonely, with a house empty of pets I'm not sure how much, if at all, I'll be around so just wanted to thank everyone and wish everyone well with your wonderful labs. Love them as much as possible and then more, because it never is enough.
All the best
Kolin

<br />Ellis (brown) & Yukon (yellow) - Sadly, we helped Ellis "move along" on Feb 22, 2007 at age 15 1/2 - and Yukon died suddenly on Feb 1st, 2006 - 4 days before his 11th birthday. We are devestated.
Oh Kolin I know you don't think it now, but it does get better. It takes time. You will always have a place in your heart for your beautiful Brown boy.
Please, please still come into J.L. Share you knowledge with us, and more importantly share the times you had with your beloved lab.
I know sharing Kassy has helped.
Hoping to see you when you are ready.

What a wonderful tribute to a wonderful dog. We lost our last two fur kids (dogs) within a year of each other, so I know just how devastating it is for you. They truly were our "kids" and though we logically know that even when they live to a ripe old "dog" age it's still not that long.....it's a crushing blow when it happens. It took us a long while before we could even think of getting another dog, but we love dogs and eventually wanted to fill the void we felt. Ellis and Yukon were clearly very special dogs that will always be in your hearts. From your pictures and posts they must have had incredibly wonderful lives with you. Give it time and hopefully one day your grief will be replaced by all the great memories you have of "your boys." We still talk about "our girls" often and will never forget them.
Again, my deepest condolences on your loss. I hope that you will drop in to the forum often and let everyone know how you're doing. I know we'd all love to hear some Ellis stories or Yukon stories.
Take care.
Kolin,
Hoping you and Ellen are doing OK. You're both in my thoughts.
I hope Ellis and Yukon have met Cory. She was from southern Alberta, that's where we lived when we got her.
Take care of yourselves
