Bandit's Overdue Tribute

This is a little over due, I Joined JL after my Bandit’s passing but after I found this picture I figured I would give him a little tribute.

I had Bandit for 13 years and he was the best dog, always there for you when you needed him. He went through 2 separations from my wife then a divorce. I use to joke that she got the kid and I got the dog ;D

He was high strung up until the day he passed on. He went the way he would have wanted at home in his sleep the night after a seizer.

I didn’t think he would recover from the seizer he had the night before but after a half hour at the vets he jumped of the table and came home.

Because of his age I declined testing, and decided against putting him down even though the vet leaned toward that. Since he recovered from it I knew it may not be the last but I wanted to give him the chance.

I never knew how much a part of my life he was until the days after his passing. My house had a huge emptiness to it my faithful companion who always greeted me at the door with a tail wag and slobbery tongue was now gone. It took very little time to figure out I needed another dog.

This need is what introduced me to Labs and this site.

They say everything happens for a reason and his passing may have been the reason for me finding this site and all the wonderful people here.

I now have Willow a 9 month old black lab who demands even more attention then my Bandit did.

That is a lovely tribute to Bandit. Our precious dogs certainly do leave a huge hole in our lives and special paw prints in our hearts when they pass on don't they. :'( Run free Bandit.
