Good bye, my friend

[Thats My Dog]

My best friend and constant companion for the last 10 plus years crossed over the Rainbow Bridge this evening.* He fought as hard as he could for nearly 4 months to win the war against the evil cancer, but it finally got the best of him.

Twice in the past 7 days he fainted due to the tumor pressing against his jugular vein.* For the past 4 days he would hardly eat a thing, and yesterday it became very clear that my sweet baby was not enjoying life anymore.

Late this afternoon, we called the vet to let her know that Jake had let us know that today was his day to go, and shortly after 5 PM she came to our home to help Jake on his journey.* My wife and I held him and talked to him until he passed.* I closed his eyes for him and gave him a last kiss good bye.

Jake, we love you, and we will never forget you.

I have been following Jake's story and was praying for a better outcome. I am so sorry for your loss. He will live on in the memories of the many that where there beside you during his treatments. He has not gone, just gone ahead.
