My handsome and intelligent son, Lord Cobweb, passed away last year, 9 June. He was 16, and would have been 17 yesterday. My most cherished memory of him - he would check on me during the night, just gently sniffing me and going back to his bed. My funniest memory of him - he had gotten loose and brought home part of a deer leg! (Thank DOG I had taught him 'drop it!' as command without an option for that occasion!)
Cobweb had the true Labrador personality and appetite. I know he was 16 and I should be grateful for those years - but I wish I could hug him and kiss his head just once more.
I remember when I came home on 11 September 2001, and was so happy to see him safe - my sole comfort on that horrible day.
Lord Cobweb was named after both the Who song ('Cobwebs and Strange') and one of the fairies in 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'. He was my loyal, brave, handsome furry son, and I will love him always.
Sorry fro your loss. He sounds like a great dog. R.I.P Lord cobweb
