Default Champion-bred retriever dies saving Marines

Saw this article from the Marine Corps Times about Cole, a black lab who died hunting IEDs in Afghanistan. Thought you all might want to see it.

that is sad but he died saving our country when my gramps was in the Korean war he was saved by a lab/rottweiler mix they were on patrol all of a sudden the dog alerted and then he jumped in front of the handler and my grandpa taking the bolt for them so when he got back to the states he got his first lab fell in love then when he died didnt get another lab or a rottweiler just hunting dogs.then he heard a story about a dobermen saving his handler life then one day walking through the pound forun a lab/hound mix going to be put down took him home then when i was 1 it died then when i was 3 or younger my parents brought me hi-ome my first dog which was a rottweiler then i found a lab/shepherd mix when i was 7 walking through the corn field hod tied but sadly 4 months later he got loose and was hit by the mail lady i will never forget my rottweiler or that lab.(snoopy has saved my life to many times to forget him)

That's a lot of dogs in your life, Deidra. And, yes, they have a way of looking out for us.

Nice story. I hope the pit bull/lab/rottweiler mix at least got his name in the paper (lol).
