My sister called me around midnight last night, absolutely stricken. Their beloved Nalle, a black lab just 1yr and 10 months, had been hit by a van and killed on the highway , about 100 yrds from their house. They live in a rural area, so they usually just let the dogs out to go p&p on their own. After a while, they went to call them back in, Missy the 9 yr old GSD came in but no sign of Nalle. My sis went to look for him and seeing the cop car and the van by the highway, she knew...The family and especially my 12 yr old niece, whose dog he kind of was, are devastated. And so am I, to be honest. I cried last night for a couple of hours after my sister called. Cried and hugged my own sweet furball close
Nalle was exactly 2 months younger than my Martta who just turned two on the 23rd. I was just dogsitting for my sis and her family last weekend and Nalle and Martta had a great time playing bitey face and wrestling. I can't believe he's gone *cry*.
Run free sweet Nalle, run free dear boy.
how sad, run free at the bridge Nalle.x Hugs to you too.x

Dogs are the best kind of friends, they wag their tails and not their tongues!

That's a tragic story. I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm sure my Chocolate Payton and Nalle are playing on the other side of The Bridge.
