Challenge # 69 Churches. And the winner is ............... (Winner at bottom)
Let's see 4 of the churches in your home town. I think some of the nicest buildings are churches. Post your entries by noon on Sunday. (US time). I'll announce the winner that night.
Get snapping.
Here's 4 from around me.
St Stephens.
St Marys cathedral. This is the oldest church in QLD. Built 1904.
St Marks.
And a different kind of church. A bush chapel.

I will try and get some pictures tonight. We have 4 churches right along main street.
This is a picture I took last summer of my church and work place. I used it on our church directory cover. This is the side view. First United Methodist Church of Brookville
Immaculate Conception
Brookville Presbyterian
Grace Lutheran

Boy, what a hard task. Do I have to pick a winner?. I like them all but I guess the one that stands out to me is Linda's Brookville Presbyterian church.
Paula, I love the look of St. Louis in New Orleans but it would have been nice to see the whole building from top to bottom. Having said that, churches are really hard buildings to shoot unless you've got a really good camera & the expensive lenses to match. The only way I can shoot tall buildings with my camera is to Lay on my back looking up at them which brings all sorts of strange looks from passers by.
Shane23, I love the look of St. Rita's. I bet all these buildings are just as nice on the inside. They're all winners.
Well done everyone.

Glad you liked the photo. Boy do I agree about it being hard to take these kind of pictures. I'm lucky enough that my lens goes down to 17 mm so I could get the entire church in the photo, but how do you get a nice shot with all the cars, telephone poles, signs etc. that seem to get in the way?
I will post another challenge in a few minutes.
