Linda1's post made me think. What gear does everyone use? I am curious because I am looking for another lens and am not exactly sure what I want. I am mostly interest in portrait photography (people or pets) and have been struggling between getting the standard 50mm or going with something like the 17-55mm. It should be noted I am a Canon person (**duck from the Nikon people throwing rocks**). Here is a list of my current gear. Please share yours. Also, let me know if you are a Canon, Nikon, Fuji, Sony, etc. person.

I have the same lens as it was cheaper than the cannons. I use it alot. I bought the 18-250 as well. People say there slow focus and noisy, but I think they work well. I am just a beginner to all this so I guess if I don't know how great the canon L lenses are I won't miss them...
Wow, I sure don't fit in here! I have a canon PowerShot S500 Elph.
