I'm apologizing for the delay in choosing a winner - I got bumped off my 11 am flight yesterday, was put on standby for 2 other flights, and finally got a seat on the 9:30pm flight (I went home first from the airport). It was a long day and I didn't get to my dorm until 1am, haven't checked the internet since late friday, but you guys were one of the first things on my to do list to do this am.
Thanks for sharing all your photos, there were some really great submissions and there were some outstanding ones too. had a hard time choosing between 4. I loved Eastcoastmom's photo of her daughter Ana, Baloo317's photo of Peanut, and chowhound's first photo submission - all gorgeous. But the photo that spoke the most to me, was a bit unconventional - and for that I love it! The colors, the contemplative face, and the composition - unusual, but definitely works - congratulations lab-junkie!!!!!

Let's go with the theme of Portraits (Lesson #8 had portraiture). The Portrait can be of people or animals. The portrait should peek into the life of the the subject; whether it be a newborn in the arms of a loving father, a 3 month old holding their head up for the first time, brothers and sisters hanging out, a photo looking into the soulful eyes of your lab, or a grandpa telling their life in a picture.
Please take a look at this lesson before you post your photos http://www.justlabradors.com/forum/i...c,38823.0.html
Also, I find that studio backgrounds don't show the truth and beauty of life and seem more superficial ("say cheese please") and therefore less appealing to me, so please avoid them!

These are of my cat Jakey. He was basking in the afternoon sunshine on top of the garage roof, hence the angles are of me pointing upwards which is against the portrait rules but i quite like them any how.
