Thought I'd pass on this tip so someone doesn't do a stupid thing like me. Friday, with freezing temps, wind and snow, I took the camera and went for an hour walk looking for ANGLES. Came home cold and wet, went to put the flash card in reader and.....no flash card in camera! I have done this before. I got out my camera book and found that there is a setting that will prevent the camera from working if you don't have the card in. Tested it and it works!
If nothing else, the dogs had a good time in the snow!

LOL LOL LOL Been there done that. Not that it would have helped you on your walk, but I now have a spare CF card in my purse at all times. If I leave the house without my card, I at least have a small one in my purse.

I was really surprised that the camera functioned without the card. I was using manual setting and I changed aperture, exposure, made sure I had focus locked in, etc. and there was no way I could tell that the card was missing. Now that I changed the setting when I push the shutter button and look in the view finder I see "no C F" so I know to check the card.

My camera won't work if the card is not in it![]()
