Old camera equipment

My husband has a good deal of 35mm camera equipment from the late 60's and 70's. I was checking out his lenses, etc. and notice he has a olympus T-20 flash. It still works and I was wondering if it would harm my Rebel XT? I vaguely remember reading something about voltage. Since I don't have a flash, I thought this might be better than nothing but I don't want to damage my camera.

I don't think it will harm it, but I doubt it will work with it.

I would take it to a reputable camera shop and ask them before trying it.
