Is this the appropriate forum for this question? I need to get a camera bag for me DSLR that leaves room for a couple additional lenses. They have some camera backpacks that look more convenient to carry than a traditional camera bag. Does anyone have the "backpack" type? Do they offer sufficient protection for the camera and lenses? Any pros or cons?
I have a backpack style camera bag made by Canon. It's very roomy inside. I can carry my 40D with lens + 3-4 more lens. There are plenty of compartments for filters, memory cards or anything else you may need/want to carry. The only downside to this type bag is that it's HEAVY when loaded.

I have a Lowepro Micro Trekker 200 that I use for short trips and a much larger backpack whenever I need to take all my gear including my laptop...
If your looking for something a little more stylish, the Shootsac is pretty popular and was invented by a professional wedding photographer.
I have there bags that range from small (just my xt and small lens) to the LowPro Slingshot 300AW. With the Lowpro, I can keep my canon 70-200 IS lens on the camera plus have room for several other lenses.

Cool bags! Mine only fits my XTi and one small lense. I am digging those Shootsacs ;D
