Hi guys and gals!
Monnie inivited me over here to check things out. I got a new Canon Rebel XT-Digital and I'm really excited. I gave my old Olympus to my 8 year old and she is in heaven....she's taken over 100 photos of Ruby since last night hahaha
Anyway...I look forward to learning from ALL of you. I've been through the forum...and WOW...you folks are GOOD!

I just got my rebel and let me tell you, you will need to watch more than your hard drive. Think lenses, bags, filters, grips, tripods, memory cards, ect.. Oh boy they will get you...
I know with the kit you really don't need any more, but if you are like me you will think you do...
Congrats and enjoy that thing. I know I am...
Congratulation on the new camera!! and welcome aboard to this side of the forum.![]()

Thanks...Looking forward to joining in on the challenges.
I ordered a case...actually it's a backpack..for the rebel...it's pretty sharp. Also got a deal on a spare photo card for 21$ when I got the backpack.
I used amazon.com...anyone else use amazon?
I definitely want to add a zoom or macro lens next. We tried my husband's old Canon lenses but they don't fit the Rebel...darn.
He did have a hood and a cover for the lens...slips right over and cuts down on some UV...also keeps the lens clean and safe.
I got him interested in photography again, which was a bonus. He was really into it before getting married...kids...etc. Hopefully this will get him inspired again because he is really good.

I've used amazon.com for all sorts of things. I bought my camera direct from Sony but only because I wanted the silver and that was a color they sold exclusively. If not for that I would have likely bought from Amazon.
