Are people losing interest in the Weekly Photo Challenges???

I think the contest itself is great. My problem is a lot of the pics I have weren't taken by me.

I enjoy the contest. I would like to see all of us take new pictures for the challenge and not use old ones, which I am guilty of. Now that the weather is getting nicer, it will be easier for me to get out and take more pictures.

I wonder if we stop voting and just discuss the pictures people would be more apt to post? I'd like to hear constructive criticism to help me learn more.

I'd love to get back in it. It was so much fun before and it gave me a reason to try to actually learn how to use my camera instead of just setting it on automatic. I think Linda is right....now that weather is nicer it will be easier to get pictures. Prizes sound great too. Doesn't the other board give away stuff to the winner of their photo contests? How do they do it?

i have an idea, may need some more thinking through.... But how about a JL Calendar..... The competition could run monthly, then the winner for that month, gets that months slot in next year’s calendar i.e. Januarys winner becomes January’s picture the following year. It would need someone to organise printing, postage etc, but a small charge could be applied to people who want to purchase, that would cover the printing and postage costs. I would be happy to do it but i am in the UK and most of the board are in the US, the cost of postage from here to the US would drive up the cost. Alternatively, we design one ourselves, and put it on the website for people to download - free :-)

OR - still going with the idea that we design ourselves and post on the website…. the winner from the previous month could be the next months picture, then the calendar can be published monthly to include up and coming events etc.

I am no technical whizz but i am sure that we could find a board member that could design the calendar.

I got busy with a few things and plain forgot last week. I do like the idea of doing a monthly and getting new pictures. Because of the weather I've been using older ones.
