Hello everyone Im new to the site...My family and I just got our first Lab from a co-worker that was unable to care for him anymore. He is believed to be about 4-5 months old. I'm pretty sure he is not a pure breed. I tried to research to find out what he might be mixed with...but no luck. Is there anyway of telling what breed he might be mixed with by just looking at him? I notice his ears dont look like other labs....but then again i'm a rookie dog owner. Here are a few pics of him if anyone could help me out. His name is Apollo!

One tuckered pooch!
Politicians and diapers should be changed frequently and all for the same reason.

I can't help either - but what an adorable little guy![]()
:-* for your cute new pup.
I agree with the others that he's cute. There's something about his body structure and head that has me thinking he might be part Pitbull. What a cutie!
I was thinking the same thing MicksMom- does look like he may have some Pitbull in there somewhere. He's a cutie, whatever he is!
oh he is so adorable...I am thinking a little shepherd, but only 'cause he reminds me of a white german shepherd.

He's cute he could be full lab too with just a higher ear set. There are some papered labs on here that have ears close to that they are just set higher on the head so they don't lay flat. Either way he's cute and I'm glad you took him in.

Thanks for all the replies...they have been very helpful. I've gotten similar replies from another forum. I guess my wife and were hoping it didnt have a mix of Pit. Not sure if there is for sure way to tell or not. My wife isnt to keen on pit bulls...so we'll see what happens. Once again thanks for the replies.
Whether or not he has a bit of pit bull in him will not affect what kind of pet he will be. If you raise him in a good, loving way he'll be a great dog, regardless of his breed make up.Originally Posted by CasinoK1D
Pits are excellent dogs, in the right hands. Tell your wife to try not to be too influenced by the media, who have given pits a horribly bad name. Keep in mind, there are many dog attacks by many other breeds (even labs!) that never make it to the news because it's just not sellable enough. But if a pit attacks, it's splashed all over the place. There's a reason for that, and it isn't because pits are nasty dogs.
OK I'll step off my soap box now. Love him, train him, provide him with healthy boundaries and you will be amazed at what a fantastic dog he grows up to be.

Ditto. Some of our dog, Champ's, bestest friends at the dog park are Pits.Originally Posted by Baloo317
