    Default Football

My son plays football on weekends its a new team just starting out. Well today they lost 14-1 again but it aint no f**king wonder! They played really well considering! Matthews dad stood there shouting and bawling at them and i mean really nastily, the agression in his face was unreal and he was shouting oi you boy stand over there..your going the wrong way..oh fgs..he made the goalie cry! I mean they are 6yrs old! i shouted to rian just ignore him your doing well carry on and one of the other mums said something to him but he didn't care, he is gonna be banned from matches i reckon, sooo embarrassing the other team manager said i wouldn't have had it either

poor kids they were left heartbroken after that match all cos of him!

Some parents try to live out their lost dreams through their kids don't they, pushing and bullying them to suceed in something that they never did, he sounds like a right tosser and should be banned from the touchline, those little ones will have no confidence to play with someone bawling at them like that. Well done to your little Rian for not getting upset by him.

As the mother of two former cheerleaders from grade school on and watching more pee wee football, soccer, basketball games than I can remember I can attest that this is a far too often scenario. Some of these coaches could use a course in anger management and have absolutely NO business being around children, much less coaching them. Especially the ones who use the profanity!!!

I hate the way some people seem to think that everything for kids has to be educational or instructional in some way. TV shows, books, games, etc. everything seems to have to be able to "teach" children something. So much pressure to get good grades in everything all the time...a great goal but some children are better at some things than others, some kids have trouble understanding. I tell my daughter's "Study hard, do your homework, and do your very best" If they have trouble, we work it out. What ever happened to JUST HAVING FUN. Is fun extinct in our children's lives today? Sometimes I think so. JMO
