Mansfield Prison tour-lots of pics

DH went to a VW show at the mansfield prison, about an hour and a half from our house, and i tagged along because i had never been there and wanted to go. i will tell you that this is a creepy looking prison. This is where they filmed Shawshank Redemption. my favorite show on the sci-fi channel was here in 06 and deemed it haunted so i wanted to see it for myself. we went on the hollywood tour that showed all the places that they filmed the Shawshank Redemption. it was pretty neat. the last inmate was moved to the new prison on December 31, 1990. the night before the show, anyone who arrived early was treated to the film inside where they were not visited by ghosts but by bats. they do ghost tours starting in October but seeing it during the day, i wouldn't feel comfortable seeing it at night.

Very neat, thanks for posting this. Creepy, cool pictures. I really loved that movie. And have a history of touring old prisons. Last year (or maybe it was the year before), I went to visit Eastern State Penitentiary in Phila.
