I am so disgusted. $450.30. They raised my rate to 20 cents per kilowatt hour.

HOW CAN THEY DO THIS.... and they don't have to tell you? We locked in last month at .15, but it's not reflecting that. Their website was down for six days when we tried to lock in... so I wonder if the site was conveniently down until there was, maybe, a cut off date for locking in.

SECOND: I have been living with almost no A/C... no lights... air drying towels and bedding... I used 2294 this month. Last month I used 2903. I want to cry. Average high temp outside has been 97 degrees. The house gets very hot and humid.

STILL - - I can't figure out how I am using that many kwh. I have unplugged things. I even turn the power off to the hot tub. It's cheaper to empty the hot tub and refill it than it is to keep power going to it everyday for sanitation.

I AM SERIOUSLY HATING THIS SITUATION. SERIOUSLY.

Your usage seems high - can you get someone to test your metre?

I checked my last bill ... Reading Date June 3/08 for 61 days = 901 kWh Consumption = $109.88 (5 cents per kWh + delivery charge)

I received my bill in at just over $300. I admit I've kept the upstairs cool but not any more. I'm dying and hot flashing up a storm. It's actually cooler sitting outside in my swing in the shade than in the house right now. I read that rates are up 30% over last year....oh well....I totally understand your frustration. I think you are fighting a losing battle and will just have to ride it out.

Wow. How big is your house [sq. ft]. Our bill was $150, of course Atlanta is a little cooler than Texas.

I had no idea how many KWs we use each month so I just went and looked online. Looks like about 700. I have no idea if that's high or low for our small house. And what's this "delivery charge" they're hitting me with?! Regular bill is $98 and then they have a $40 delivery charge. WTF? What is that? >

I'd flip if mine was over $400.

Oh wait....I forgot something. Gas is included in my bill, Shanna. That means my actual electric bills are about the same as yours and my house is a two story and we run our air 24/7.
That's smurfing crazy.
