Default Tech help from those who burn their own CDs......

I've tried twice to burn a bunch of songs from my iTunes library to a CD.

Results are crap! Songs skip or won't play at all.

Am I using inferior CDs? I don't remember where I got the ones I'm using now, but they're proving worthless. What brand CD should I be using? HELP! Frustration is setting in bigtime.

    Your CD's are probably crap.
ETA: iTunes is crap too... I burned 14 songs to a CD the other day and only 12 will play.

Did you ever resolve your other IPOD problem?

Are you trying to play them in your car? Some burned CD won't play in the car very well...Or if it has a sticker on the CD it will skip.

    Hope this helps

Good question...also how do you know how many songs will fit on a cd? I am clueless to this stuff :

Like James said, it's probably a combination of both...reason #123908304 that I still buy real CDs.

Usually your software will tell you when the disc is full. I've never personally had problems making CDs from itunes but I upload all my music to it, rather than buy from the itunes store.

It did crap out in the car, but also elsewhere. And the CD does have a pattern embossed in it. I'll try a naked one.

    Thanks!

CDs - How to tell they're full? They *ding* and say: ALL FULL. Please insert a new blank CD.

Totally naive and stupid question: Re - Blank CDs. Is there a difference between a CD for data and a CD for music? And if so, what should I be using for music. Please let the answer be something as simple as "The ones marked 'for music,' numbskull!"

I like either Sony or Fuji CDs. I usually use Nero to burn and make sure the buffer is working. I will shut down everything else and just burn the CDs. Since I started doing that I have less gum ups and skips.

If you are doing a music CD, make sure you burn it as a music CD.
