Does anyone join these any more? (BMG, Columbia House, etc.)
Ron's CD case and years worth of music have been missing since our move, and I want to start replacing them, but I'm not sure what the best way would be.
I don't mind downloading & burning them, but at $.99 per song, it'll cost a fortune.
Any suggestions?

i'm a BMG member. i think going on 7 years now. after my initial membership agreement i stayed with them for the 55-60% off and no shipping deals they run frequently for members. a CD usually costs me $7.50 - 8.00 during the sales and that's better than $12 - 15 at a regular store.
You can download/buy a whole album. When you do it this way, its a lot cheaper than 99 cents a song.
Back in the day I was in the cassette club ;D

iTunes Store sells whole albums in one download.
Doesn't itunes limit the number of times you can put the songs on a CD? From there, I guess you could just make a copy of a copy, but meh.

You can usually find whole albums on iTunes for around $9, depending on the album. Sometimes they have sales too...I picked up Rolling Stones Sticky Fingers for $7.
Otherwise, I would check at a store that sells used CDs. Or (and this is what I do...don't tell...shhhh) go to the library, check out a CD and copy it to your computer. You won't have the whole "album thing" with the sleeve and stuff, but you'll still have the tunes.
