The pain my hand is carpul tunnel. It went from annoying to killer pain. Surgery is not an option for me right now. Nor do I think I could bring myself to go that route. So you will have to excuse my horrible typing I could not type on a good day. Now I have to deal with what I like to call (the brace from HE!!) I'm not sure it help but I agreed to try it. So break the decoder rings.

They did give a pain med. nothing major, or strong. I want to start with the least meds then go up. Its not unbearable yet. Now it just wierd having something on my wrist.

I'm sorry. My mom has carpal tunnel and has to wear the brace. I know it's not fun.

It is ackward. The only thing that really bugs me about it is. The fact that it is my right hand. I never realized how much I reach for things with that hand before thinking about it. Now I have pain shooting through my hand and not enough common sense to to say "Gee I think I will reach with the had that does not hurt"

I had carpal tunnel in both hands and had the surgery to fix them last year. It really wasn't bad at all, and I'm a big wuss. I had the surgery where they make an incision on the palm of my hand perpendicular to my wrist and cut the ligament or whatever that's in there (It's called Carpal Tunnel Release). I had to wear a splint on my hand/lower arm for 2 weeks and then an ace bandage like sleeve for a while after. I have no more symptoms at all. I'm really pleased with how it turned out.

I'm not sure what your situation is, but I hope you can get some relief soon! I know how frustrating it is not to be able to use your hands.

Mine was first done in 89 and 90, had to have them both done, then they scarred up and had to be redone in 91, more scarring. But that is because my body is prone to scarring and the surgery has much improved since thin, I am a 1 out of a 1000 that have these troubles. :
