With the state of the economy, has anyone else noticed how there are suddenly a lot of commercials on TV and ads in the papers for various get rich schemes? You know the ones where they try to get you to attend some big real estate seminar held in some out of the way hotel banquet room. I love how these guys always make their appearances during recessions.

No, not really. Those adverts are out there all the time.
Maybe now I just get too sleepy to notice if they are there more frequently than they are during regular television life hours.

I have noticed them. I wonder if people forget the saying "If it's too good to be true...it usually is."
It's weird you should say that cause the husband and I were just talking about how we are getting a lot fewer marketing calls. We wondered if the bad economy meant that fewer people are falling for them and so there are fewer calls as a result.
I've been home sick and there are a ton of work from home ads on daytime tv. Ordinarily I just never watch tv during the day so I'm not sure if it's more or less; just that there are a million of them.
