for my niece Katie.* She graduated last spring with a Biomedical Engineering degree and started Med school last week.* In college she was just a 2 hour drive from home and now she is about 6.* She is lonely and overwhelmed.* I feel so bad for her.* She is such a bright, sweet kid.* Here is a picture of her with her new pet, Marty the hedgehog.* She wanted a dog so bad, but with her being in class or studying most of the time she thought Marty was a good option for her.*

It gets better. Goood thoughts from here. When I was stationed overseas I was "dog sick". I could have not have a dog in the dorm. I know how she feels.

I love the hedgehog!!! My neice Katie (tee hee!) left for Penn State last year and was terribly homesick the first couple of weeks. This year couldn't wait to go back.

I'm sure she'll be fine
