UPDATE 2:* Hubby just called after leaving the vet.* Smeagol has tonsilitis.* He said he did eat a little wet food before they left for the vet finally.* So he got a shot and some antibiotics for a few weeks.* I hope that is all is was.
** My Fience went home at lunch to check on him and try to get him to eat the canned food he turned it down too and some honey which he normally devours (the honey is for low blood sugar he has as a puppy we don't normally feed it).* He's not acting normal either and just not his spunky self.* The vet can get him in at 3:00pm so we'll see what they come up with.* Poor baby he's been so sick several times in his short life it's hard to see him like that.
Smeagol is our Yorkie he's almost 3 and about 7 lbs.* I know I'm paranoid but with him the littelest thing ends him in the hospital for a few days.* He is not and never has been a picky eater infact he is constantly eating things he shouldn't which has got him in trouble several times.* He spends a lot of weekends with my fience's parents as he lived with them before we moved in together and they 2 other dogs he just loves to play with.* So he was there over the weekend until last night.* We picked him up later last night and as usual when we got home he just plopped on the couch for the night.* He pooped on the floor over night (unfortunatly not totally uncommon although he's gotten much better) I took him out as usual and he went pee (normal) but he didn't eat his breakfast and just layed on the couch.* He normally engulfs his food within 30 second.* I've never seen him turn away food in 2 1/2 years even when he was sick.* He wasn't spunky but was walking fine when I took him out and hasn't thrown up or anything.* My fience is really worried about him he has been deathly ill twice in his short life so it's scarry when he is not acting normal.* We both work full time and normally do not get home at lunch but he was going to try to leave for a while at least to check on him.* We have some SD I/D food (sensitive stomach) from the last time he was in the hospital so he is going to try to feed it to him when he goes home.* The only thing I wonder about is that he started on a new bag of food (same kind just new bag) I bought last night and added to his old food.*
Any ideas?* Hopefully it's nothing but we just can't take the chance with him.*

Keep us updated please. These little guys anything can be a crisis. I know if Twinkle overdoes it in one day she won't well the next day so hopefully that's all it is. Keep us updated.
I'm sorry - no suggestions, just prayers for the little guy.
Keep us posted after his appointment.

Awww, poor baby boyHow was he at your in-laws house? Did he eat and act normal over there? Did they feed him anything they weren't supposed to?
Let us know what the vet says. Hopefully it's just an upset tummy.

He seemed normal over at their house when we picked him up. They are really bad about feeding him Iams (what they feed their dogs) instead of fedding the food we feed him which aggervates me to no end but they do it all the time so it could be that but I doubt it. I take food over there for him but they either give it to all the dogs (grrr...not good for their dogs and we bought the food for him not their dogs) or they mix it with the iams and feed it to all three (still grrr....) but hubby won't tell them they can't keep him since his mom is absolutely in love with him. I know they don't mean any harm but they don't understand how sensitive his system is. They also let him run in the back yard (fenced) without much supervision which he loves but he eats anything and everything on the ground. He's had at least 3 suspected blockages that have landed him at the vets (x-rays didn't show anything but an enlarged bowl from being irritated, no surgery but IV fluids thowing up...very sick little boy) They just don't understand that he is different than their Shi-tzu's and they have to watch him closer. Sorry for the rant I just hate seeing him sick. I'll let you know what the vet says.

Oh man Barbara! They mix up the food, and let him out without much supervision? I'd be pissed off!!! I think it's time to put your foot down, especially because of the past problems.
Poor baby, I hope he's OK.

It really ticks me off but Smeagol is my fience's dog and lived with them (my fience lived with his parents until we bought our house) until he was 2. So I don't have a whole lot of say. I've tried explainig how important it is and they swear up and down they watch him real close but I know they don't because they don't when we're there. Poor thing I know they love him and think they are doing nothing wrong they just don't understand he's not as resiliant as their other dogs. :
It would break MIL's heart not to get him on the weekends even though we're only 10 minutes away but that may be what has to happen. It's for his own good.

Does anybody know if Tonsilitis in dogs is Contageous at all? He dosn't really have contact with Mocha that much but did with his parents dogs over the weekend. Thanks for the good thoughts. Hopefully that is all it is and the meds take care of it.
