(btw, I've been out of touch with "J/L reality." Been so busy at work, I post a few times a day...and today I wanted to work on montage, which takes forever. *sigh*

Here's my take on it. If you're putting something onto your computer, say, putting a picture into Shutterfly, or your digital pics to your hard drive I call that uploading. When you take something from one place on the computer and put it someplace else on the computer, I call that downloading. Like taking a a post from here and saving it to a file folder... download. Or something found on google and saved on your hard drive... download.

Yeah, it just describes the flow of data. In short, uploading moves information from your computer to the Internet and downloading goes from the Internet to your computer...roughly speaking of course.
