I'm really glad Chef Garces won. Aside from his cooking being so much better than Mehta's, Mehta has no personality. I was wondering what they would do if Mehta's food was best and they would have to make him the winner with no personality.

I was glad - relieved - that Garces won. The judging was interesting - at one point it seemed to be the judges versus the other Iron Chefs.

I agree about Chef Mehta... he did well cooking, but has the personality of a wet dish rag. Not exactly something I would jump to watch.
I think Chef Garces will do well as an Iron Chef. Though I wonder who is not coming back or will they rotate who is up each episode. ICA has: Batali, Simon, Flay, Cora, Morimoto and now Garces.
I heard somewhere the Cat Cora is/was expecting a baby, so maybe that it is.
My pretty girl, Lexi!
I love Batali and he's not on it much anymore.

Seems like Flay gets "picked" at least 50% of the time. Is that show filmed in NY, do you know?
If they do this every year they are not going to be able to swing a cat without hitting an Iron Chef soon.

I believe it is filmed in New York.

I drove past Bar Americain (one of Flay's restaurants) yesterday. One restaurant I have wanted to try for quite a while.

I heart Bobby Flay.
Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end. -- Unknown
Batali has been mad at the Food Network ever since they canceled Molto Mario. I think he has distanced himself from the FN in general. I doubt he or Morimoto will ever really step down, but they could probably be considered at least semi-retired.

Speaking of Mario - did anyone else catch the marvelous series he did traveling in Spain with Gwyneth Paltrow (and a food writer and a Spanish actress whose names I do not recall)? It was great TV.
