Default Fostering a Pug Named "STEVE"

I took Natalie in today for a blood draw/progesterone test and there was a picture of the cutest pug on the bulletin board for adoption. I asked the story...he was found by the cops, and they took him to the pound and kept him for 5 days. The cops then brought him to my vet clinic to be put to sleep. My clinic always tries to find forever homes for the strays from the pound and gives them free medical care. They had to pull all his teeth (thanks to the clinic), he is not over weight, is neutered, up do date on all his shots (thanks to the clinic), is healthy, no glaucoma and is sweet as can be. I introduced him to Natalie and all was good. I am going to take him home for the week end so he does not have to stay in his little crate at the clinic. I just love him. He is so sweet....I doubt Mike (my hubby) will let me keep him but if I can take him home over the week ends or even keep him until he finds a forever home I feel like I am doing something important. I just love him. I imagine Mike will fall in love with him once I bring him home... = ) That is the plan. I can't get over how sweet he is.... Hubby told me last time I brought a kitty home if I brought any more cats home I'd be sleeping in the barn. I wonder if I shouls call the contracter to get the bedroom started out there. LOL Oh, my vet thinks Steve is about 9 years old. I have no comprehension how folks can do that to an old dog. He deserves a forever home. I need to work on the hubby!

Aww, good for you for giving Steve a foster home. I hope your hubby is okay with it.

I don't get how people abandon dogs at all, but seniors...it boggles the mind.

But a pug is not a cat, so you should be safe.

That's what I was thinking. How will he eat with no teeth? Soft food?

Thank you for taking him in, I am sure your husband will come around. If not, bribery might work

GET HIM! Who cares what hubby thinks/says? Pugs & Labs make a fabulous combination. I think I've proved that over the years.

We took in my Grandmothers 17yo Chihuahua when she died. He had the last of his teeth taken out @ 18. I thought the vet was insane at the time. He lived to 19. We fed him all the soft stuff like mince, veges & rice.

Or you could do the "it's me or the Pug" speech.

    We need pics!

All afternoon at work I could only think about Steve in that little crate at the vets. My Operations Manager told me to go get him and bring him to the plant. So off I go and brought him back to work. Talk about a sweet lil man. He is happy as a lark. I brought him home with me and he marched into "lab" territory knowing he belonged. I do believe Steve is a lab stuck in a pug costume. He acts like a lab, plays like a lab and loves the labs and kitties here. Good news too....hubby likes him and keeps shaking his head how someone could abandon such a sweet fella. My old gal Saedee even thinks Steve is pretty nifty.
