So last Saturday evening my throat was a little sore. Sunday & Monday it was sore, but manageable. Tuesday it was worse so I stayed home from work and relaxed all day. Wednesday I felt good, almost great and went to work. Thursday morning I woke up and could barely breathe or swallow. I couldn't talk at all either (well I could, but my with my tongue and throat swollen my speech wasn't exactly great). My husband stayed home from work (good thing he owns the company!) and called our doctor. They booked us in for an emergency appointment. Turns out my throat was so swollen my airways were nearly closed. The only thing that kept me out of the hospital was that I could breathe through my nose with relative ease; my doctor actually told me, holding her fingers about a centimeter apart, she was "that" close to admitting me. I hadn't eaten in almost 24 hours and what I drank was minimal (but luckily I wasn't dehydrated). So now I'm off work for nearly a week and on a bunch of different meds. Antibiotics for the throat infection, steroids (short term) to get and keep the swelling down, etc. I'm doing better, functioning, so that's good. Today I'm relaxing, doing a little laundry and watching movies on Netflix - Starting with American History X.
My husband keeps texting (from work) and asking me if I'm feeling better and doing everything he can to make me feel better ...
I told him a labby puppy would help. LOL
He didn't fall for it.
But I did get to eat ice cream for dinner last night.![]()
That stinks. Hope you're feeling better. Ice cream for supper is good!
Ice cream and a Lab puppy cures everything!!!
hope you get better soon.

Oh my gosh! I'm glad you're feeling a little better now - sounds miserable and a little dangerous. Last year one of my friends went to the ER and was diangosed with pneumonia - doctor decided she didn't need to be admitted as long as there was someone at home to help her out. Well, the lovely place where I work (the hospital that she went to and also works at) doesn't take "attendence points" on you if you are hopistalized, and then miss work but because she wasn't hosptialized, they gave her attenedence points for a week, which put her over the "limit" and she had to have a verbal warning. Nice place , uh?
