    Default Toys From Your Childhood

I don't know why I was thinking about this, but the other day I was trying to remember some of my earliest toys from my childhood. The first thing that came to mind was a coloring box thing called "Colorola". It was a red plastic box that had pictures you could color, and you could erase them and color them again and again, with these really crappy waxy crayons. The pictures were on a sort of rolling thing that you could change with the turn of the little plastic crank. Then there was, of course, The Easy Bake Oven! And Flatsy dolls. And Little Kiddle Dolls. And Spirograph. And Miss Cookie's Kitchen Colorforms. And one of my favorites, The Footsie! ( It was this plastic ring that had a cord with a bell at the end and you put the ring around your ankle and you'd make circles with that foot and have to jump over the cord with your other foot. We used to do this racing up and down our block. Amazing we didn't wipe out more often!

Die cast tractors, I get them for Lemol now, something Grandpa's should do for little boys, mine were obtained the same way.

    What year is that from?

We had a lot of the Star Wars action figures, or my brother did. We had ColecoVision and I loved the Smurfs game. And of course, Simon! My son just got a new updated version of Simon and while it isn't the same, I still enjoy it. And my Big Wheel. It was red, yellow and blue. And my brother had a Green Machine. We used to get in so much trouble riding those things down the street. We could never hear the cars coming up behind us and we didn't have sidewalks.

Oh and i had one of these things:

I still have an etch-a-sketch from the late 70's or early 80's. My kids play with it all the time.

My favorites were my Cabbage Patch doll, my Teddy Ruxpin, Barbies, My Little Pony, those little bear things that would roll up into a ball and then fold out into a bear-like creature (can't remember what they were called), a huge, fluffy stuffed dog named Barkley (off Sesame Street), Play-doh, Strawberry Shortcake stuff, and my big doll head that would put on/take off makeup with water.

I also have a gray Army teddy bear that my dad brought back from one of his deployments. I still have that bear, and it stayed on my bed until I got married.
