We had a PRCA rodeo in town this weekend, it meant a busy weekend at work and lots of hats for me to work on. Their hats can take a beating in the arena so a lot of them come in to have them fixed up. They come in and ask if I can reshape their hats, I pretend like I toss it on the floor and stomp on it and I get these big grins and they tell that is the problem it been stomped on.
I enjoy talking to them while I work on their hats, I get a bunch of them standing around my hat island, they tell me some of the funny things that happened to the others at the last stop. But what I think is really neat I don't think a one of them when I was done that didn't say, "Thank You very much Sir." Some of them may be a little rough around the edges, but they are the politest bunch of kids you'll ever meet.
Them that don't know him won't like him
And them that do sometimes won't know how to take him
He ain't wrong, he's just different but his pride won't let him
Do the things that make you think he's right
Manners make a man

Very cool Glen! And, very true Colin.
Haven't met any PRCA cowyboys yet, but the PBR and CBR ones I've met have been full of manners. It really shows on the interviews they all do, too.
To be honest with you some of these guys could be the top contenders and I wouldn't know who they are.A few years ago I was working on a hat for one of them and in talking to him he said he was a bull rider. I looked him straight in the eye and asked him if his Mom had never taught him not to play with his food. He told some others in the store that knew who he was that I was a bit crazy but that was the funniest thing he'd heard all day.
