Default Heart warming story in the news...

In the era of big boxes, a day for the little guy - Yahoo! Finance

My oldest lives there. I emailed him to ask if he happened to go shopping that day--but no, he didn't know anything about it. But said he would plan on shopping there once a month.
If we could all do something like this, the little local stores would be able to stay in business!

Does this boat make my butt look big?

Big box hardware stores are where you try for something after you have tried all the Mom and Pop ones.

Them that don't know him won't like him
And them that do sometimes won't know how to take him
He ain't wrong, he's just different but his pride won't let him
Do the things that make you think he's right

I love those little Mom & Pop stores. They are just getting harder & harder to find. Great story!

This store has been there since the1800's. I have several friends that are involved with the CVJC's and they were a big part of making this happen. My father will only shop there; not believing in Lowe's or any of the big places. It would be a shame to see them close. Just like The Popcorn Shop next door. And there is no other place to be on Memorial Day wknd than downtown Chagrin Falls.

And Delmonico, you'd blow the flap out of the backseat of your suspenders hanging out in downtown Chagrin. Right up your ally.

I most likely wouldn't get out of that hardware store, I know what you can find sometimes in those places.

I've visited Chagrin Falls several times since my son lives in the area. I love going there. It is one of the best preserved "old time" downtown areas I've seen. I don't remember the name of it, but their bookstore is very interesting also!

Fireside Book Store (or Shop?). They've been there since the early '70s I believe. And don't forget about Mac's Tobacco Pouch. Can't read a book without a fat cigar and glass of Merlot!
