    Default unhide files on computer?

We need more computer help, please.

Bill finally got his computer cleaned and re-set. Now he is trying to access the files (mostly pictures) he has stored on his external hard drive, but they are hidden. He found that out when he thought they were all gone, and tried to make a new file with the same name as an old file. Got a message stating there was already a file there with that name. Did a search on the drive, and everything is hidden.

How can he un-hide all the stuff on that external drive? He can find individual pictures, but he needs to be able to see everything on there.

    Thank you very much!!!

Search unhiding files on the internet. there is a virus that cuases this and there is a two executables that work to clear this up. I can't recall the name as it is on another computer we have Follow the steps exactly and you will be back in business. It is not uncommon and the repair is relatively quick and painless

He had to restore the computer to factory settings and re-install everything. He used System Mechanic and back-up disks he'd made the last time he did this.

What kind of computer do you have? You can go online and find instructions on how to re-store almost any brand of computer and its actually pretty darn easy.
