Default Random Thought For Today........Kitchen Sponges

This is probably so unimportant, and silly, but it's something I think about every time I go to the grocery store. Why do they have to make kitchen sponges in the most nauseating colors only? Why can't they make beige ones, aqua ones, or anything in the earth-tone family? When I go to buy new sponges I have a choice of: neon orange, lime green, hot pink, shocking purple or lemon yellow. Who has kitchens these colors! Not that your sponges have to match your kitchen, but wouldn't it be nice? This is so stupid, I know, but it's just one of the many random weird thoughts that float thru my head now and then.

Never thought about it. I'd never have a sponge in my kitchen - they're breeding grounds for bacteria. May as well clean your dishes or counter with a soiled diaper.

That is so funny. I just went to the store Sat. & I needed new sponges. I bought the neon pink ones. Thought they were better than the bright lime green. Not sure why they choose those colors.

Ewwww.....glad I have to use granite wipes & my dishes go in the dishwasher. But I do need one every now & then. You can't let a wet sponge lay around.

Ewwww. Well if you don't have a sponge, how do you wash dishes, or do you put everything in the dishwasher? I have a dishwasher, and I put the sponges in them along with the dishes. But some things need to be washed in the sink, like big pots and pans etc. How do you clean those things, just curious. We use sponges in our kitchen for some things, and we're still alive so it can't be that bad. To me, the floor is the place I worry about. I always take my shoes off before coming into the house, but no one else does
When I think about all the things your shoes come in contact with when you're out in public, ( bird poop, people's spit on the sidewalk, car oil, dog pee, lead---that's a big one---, and just basic nasty germs ) it skeeeeeeeves me and I do NOT want it in my house or on my floors. So I ALWAYS take my shoes/boots off before coming inside. Wish hubby would do the same!
And, I ALWAYS wipe Breezy's paws after every walk. So to me, the floor thing is a lot more skeevy than the sponge thing. But that's just me.

I use dishcloths. They go in the wash on laundry day.

I'd never use a sponge. Ew. I use dishcloths and change them at the end of every day. Cam is absolutely right, all they do is breed and spread bacteria.

I prefer disposable dishes and utensils; then you don't have to wash anything.
