Default Alabama hit by tornadoes really hard again last night

Once again, we got lucky and the storms jumped over our area. Alabama was not so lucky though. People are still trapped, fatalities already confirmed, and the damage looks horrible. Most of the damage was in areas just north of Birmingham, and according to storm chaser friends, there are communities wiped off the map. They're just starting to recover after the April 27th tornadoes.

I HATE, HATE night time tornadoes. They are almost impossible to see. The chaser was lucky to get this picture of the massive storm that hit Jefferson County.

How horrible for those people! Prayers for the people that are trapped, and the rescuers.

Yikes tornadoes are very scary let alone at night! Living in the Midwest around Spring I am always on edge.

    Prayers for them

I can't imagine living in an area that gets hit by tornadoes.

It's not fun...especially when there's tons of trees (limits visibility on them) and our water tables are too high for basements. We will be getting a storm shelter this year. Too many close calls this past year.

My In-Laws got hit during the April Tornado flurry, they missed this one by about 60 miles. We've had some close calls as well but this one was pretty far north from us...

Hurricanes usually come with plenty of advanced notice, days in most cases. Tornadoes rarely have much notice, only hours and that's if you're lucky...

Prayer up for those folks, I just watched the radar loop and it looked like they got hit hard. Those night ones are nasty.

Those poor people. People make fun of me or my terrible fear of tornadoes.

Prayers for those in the area who were affected. We had several in this area last week this has been such a crazy winter! We got some nasty storms last night too but luckily none of them produced any tornados

That is scary. Sending good thoughts for those affected. Stay safe!
