Default Has anyone flown dogs as carry on?

I have to fly out to SD to pick up the new pup and I am planning on taking him as carry on back home.

Most of my dogs have flown as cargo over the years but I have never had one as carry on.......

I have never done it, but I see people with dogs/puppies as carry-ons quite often. They are usually in a soft-sided carrier that fits under the seat, but I'm pretty sure that Dan put Parker in a different kind of bag . . . not sure what it was.

When does the pup come home?

I flew with my cat from Los Angeles to Tulsa a few centuries ago. Her little palace fit nicely beneath the seat in front of me.

I flew my little Yorkie and had a little soft sided crate. He slept the whole time.

certain airlines are easier to deal with.
checkout southwest, if it's where you need to go.

I flew from New Jersey to St Thomas with Finn. Had a large soft sided carrier that slid under the seat. He was a perfect angel from the ride to the airport (60 minutes) thru security, hanging at the gate ( was calm, but alert) and on the actual plane ride he slept the entire flight. I did not feed him breakfast and made sure he peed and pooped before we left. When I got off the plane at STT I handed him to my husband and told him to take him across the street to pee while I got my luggage and he peed like a banshee :0) we had another 1 1/2 hour ride before we got home and again was great (calm and alert) Good Puppy :0)
I picked him up on a Wednsday and we did not leave til Monday so he had a few days with me and my parents to settle in and bond.
    BTW-
    We flew Continenal

    In case you weren't aware.

You need to clear with the airline before you show up. They have a limit on how many pets they will aloow in the cabin on any flight, and you need prior arrangements.

and i hope you don't have an animal hating beast next to you who pretends to hack and sneeze when they realize you have a dog.
