What does this mean for the Republican race?![]()
I think what it means is that every vote really does count.
In the long run, it probably doesn't mean much. Delegate-wise it won't make a difference. It may have robbed Santorum of a little momentum coming out of Iowa but he got so much attention for the virtual tie to begin with, I don't know how much difference it would have made. New Hampshire was never going for Santorum and he was already dropping in South Carolina by the time N.H. was over.
I am still mind boggled by the fact that we can't get the voting thing figured out in this country.

It doesn't really mean anything.

What I love is that when he "won" by 8 votes he claimed victory. Now that he is down by 34 he says "virtual tie."
Semantics!

I laughed at that, too, but I think it may have something to do with the fact that there are problems with the votes at a number of precincts so they actually can't declare a winner. Iowa is lucky they are a proportional delegate state and not an all or nothing state or this could be a significant cluster fuck.
