UPDATE*************************
Parvo is negative. She is a little dehydrated so they gave her some fluids. Couldn't get a fecal sample to rule out parasites, so she is on a special diet for a couple of days. So far so good. Poor puppy. My niece was so upset.
My sister got my niece a puppy for her birthday on Saturday. They lost their Riley in November. She was born on the day he died, how weird is that? Such a cutie pie.
She calls me this morning worried about Ellie. She had diarrea this morning and didn't eat last night. She threw up her potty treats this morning. My first thought was she ate something that make her stomach upset, then I though Parvo. She didn't want to come out of the crate this morning. My niece picked her up and took her out. Ellie had been up since 4:30 it was then 7. I suggested she call the vet. I am not a run to vet person anymore (or try not to be) but this made me concerned after I looked up the symptoms. She was her playful self last night. The beef treats I had bought her made her throw up so they switched to chicken like her food. What do you think?
Here is sweet little Ellie...

At that age, the vet would be my first port of call too !

The vet opened at 9 and my sister was going to call them. I offered to call for them.
Parvo has an unmistakeable smell. It's horrible. I'd wonder about worms and stuff. What color are her gums and is she drinking? The problem with PARVO is that they pups always get dehydrated and that is where they decline rapidly...but totally off topic...who in the heck still buys live animals for presents? That's so sad.

Think she didn't realize it's sisters little kid the puppy was bought for - that the mom bought for the kid..Pam.
I would take her in to the vet.

Never take any chances w/ vomitting or diarrhea in young puppies. How old is this pup? What shots & wormers have been given, etc by the breeder or rescue?
