Obviously, I agree with this.

However, this act of stupidity will effect other countries troops as well. And I think that is why other countries are weighing in on it. Other countries have troops in the line of fire, as well. So when Canada's Minister of National Defense comes out against it, it is because Canadian troops are at risk, just as much as the US soliders on the ground there. So while I'm typically of the mind your own business way of thinking, I can see why other countries are coming out against this particular act of ignorance.

While I'm all for individual rights, freedom of speech, expression, religion, etc. there is no way any one with a working brain can agree with this wacko. And I see no reason why anyone should refrain from commenting on his sheer stupidity and utter lack of respect and regard for anyone else.

One thing I have to ask though, why aren't the Muslims of this country defending the US to the Middle East over this? Why aren't they saying, don't judge this country by one bigoted wacko? Most of the country is condemning him and saying "this doesn't reflect our opinion?" Why are not our Muslim citizens?
(at least I haven't read anything that reports that any US Muslims are defending the rest of us to the Muslims in the Middle East.)

Are there a lot of folks out there that are saying this is a positive thing? I think most are against it, but just like many things you or I may be against, other then the burning permit issue, he has every right to do it. I think the guy is a complete ass, but others may think my right to carry a gun is also asinine. As others have said, I hate seeing our American flag burned, or many other things that other people and countries find completely legitimate. Where do we draw the line

If you google you will find news articles about Muslims speaking out against this.

I will say a couple reasons you may not find them front and center on this is 1) there are not a lot of prominent Muslims in this country with access to big media like prominent christian leaders here have, and not many with national talk shows like Glenn Beck; and 2) if I were a Muslim in this country, I might be trying to keep a pretty low profile when it comes to things like this. This church might be viewed as wackos by most of us, but they have some supporters. If I were Muslim and raising a family in middle class America I don't think I would want to be on the news for any reason.

I can't relate to ceding enough power to the government to allow them to make the judgment call on what speech is okay, and what is over the line. I think they've already tried to do that too much already.

The media showing him every five minutes is hardly helping. In fact, it is encouraging him because the more press he gets the more he will be defiant about it. He was even on the breakfast news this morning! The media is giving him exactly what he wants.

Its the media who cause SO many problems IMO. Just like when the tabloids blew Prince Harry's cover in Iraq putting them all in danger!
