This isn't Lab related so wasn't sure where to put it.
When it rains Gemma poops and pees on the carpet. The living room is the only room the dogs aren't allowed as I like one fur free room for non dog lovers and it smells like a dogs toilet. I take her out regularly and until it gets dark the back slider is open all day.
Gems is here 3- 4 days most weeks or weeks on end and no matter how long she is here same thing.
I cope with her destroying my pillow every day, but this is driving me nuts.
Any suggestions how to stop it. I have tried closing the doors, but one is a slider and she gets it open.
ETA she doesn't have a UTI. She came in one day and peed on the floor in front of me so I took her to the vet thinking there must be something wrong.

I'd be keeping her in a crate a lot or tethering her to me when she is not in the crate. You have to stop her while she is in the act.
Can't you use baby gates to keep her out of the room she has chosen to pee in?
Sharon - still not a dude.
Thanks Sharon. I can't use baby gates as the main door as double sliders and she pushes these open. She also jumps the baby gates. Laura crates her for extented periods so I don't like to crate her , but think I will have to. Last night I was so peeved after she did it I crated her and she went outside this morning so more crating is a good idea. I agree ctaching her is the problem. Same with the pillow I never see her shred them.
