Well, it has been awhile since I have been on JL due to several reasons, but here goes!!!
I decided to try ASCA obedience this spring, since the shows are at a facility within 30 minutes of me, and are rather small and friendly. Because it is a new venue, we had to start over in Novice. A three day trial and both Kodi and Hoss earned their ASCA-CDs, with Kodi going HIT one day and Hoss another! Kodi lost out on a first and HIT one day because she did not "sparkle" in the ring. Judge's sheet had no deductions, just a final 3 points off...so "Sparky" will "sparkle" forever-more!!!
At a Memorial Day Cluster show, Hoss earned his UD! While the first two trials he NQ'd on, the next 4 trials he took 1st place adn earned his UD in style!! The scores were not pretty, (185-189), and there is A LOT OF ROOM for improvement! The boy held it together for 4/6 trials in 4 days!!
Kodi earned 5 more UDX legs toward her UDX3 (7/9) and earned points toward her OM3 (196 out of 200).
This coming weekend is the UKC Premier. Kodi was nationally ranked for Utility, so she will try for top Utility dog on Thursday. On Friday thru Sunday, we are going for her U-OTCH points. Hoss, well we will be trying for his UUD. Not sure three straight qualifying trial is realistic for a UUD, but we will go for it!!
Wish us luck!!
