With brace and air cast on my right foot, Miles and I had a great weekend at the NEO English Cocker Spaniel Fanciers agility trial. 4 runs 3 Qs. Miles earned is AX, AXJ and his first 9 MACH points!
I did have a senior moment in our Jumpers run, the 20th obstacle was a tunnel and I just stopped and looke around like "where are we?", then I sent him in the tunnel. We q'd with about a second to spare! LOL!!
Betsy, I see you didn't make it. I hope everything is okay.

Ann - Great for you and Miles - wow - MACH points - almost a UD - you guys are burning it up. I did scribe both days in the PM but since it was Tall to Small this time I must have missed you. I pulled Recon - after we trained on Wednesday I noticed he was limping when I took him out for a walk about 2 hours later. Not sure if its his paw or his leg - I can't see any injury and Recon lets me rub his foot, his paw, his leg etc. I kept an eye on him and thought about running him yesterday - but when he has to make a quick turn still seems to bother him. Didn't want to risk any further injury so he's "resting." I was really disappointed. Saturday's courses were tough I thought but I think he would have done OK yesterday. Glad you are Miles did so well!!!

Thanks everyone.
Good vibes going your way, Betsy, for Recon. I like how you put "" around resting. I am sure resting is a very relative term with him. Poor Recon!

Ann - I was really bummed about missing this show. Terry is starting to train Recon seriously for Utility and my agility days will come to an end pretty soon until Recon has his UD at least. This was the deal we made but I didn't think it would be so hard and I also thought we might have been further along in our quest for agility titles. Not ready to start again with a puppy so only time will tell. You and Miles have really come together as a great team. It has to be rewarding to know that your hard work is coming to fruition. B

congratulations on a great weekend!
Aww thanks everyone. I couldn't possibly be more pleased with this dog.
Betsy, thanks for your kind words. Maybe Terry will get that UD on Recon in short order and you can have him back. I, personally, don't think doing agility interferes with utility (I think it is more the other way around) BUT I know you don't want to hear, "That NQ never would have happened if he wasn't doing agility. Recon is young, better to let Terry have him than to have to worry about that argument. Will you be at Youngstown this weekend?
