    Default Order of acquiring titles?

For the new set of titles, do you have to start with BN before going to GN? For that matter - do you have to start with the CD before doing the CDX before doing the UD? I thought you did for the CD/CDX/UD series, didn't see anything about the order of the BN/GN/GO series in the AKC regs, but I notice not all upcoming shows have the BN class even offered. I know in the Hunt Test world some folks didn't even bother with the JH so wondered if maybe it was the same?

You do have to go in order for AKC Obedience. I don't know the basics offhand for the newer one -BN/GN/GO - but I'm sure that the regulations would spell it out. There will be some times when you might be trying for your first leg in say, CDX, and still show in CD - but after you get your first leg in the next level, you can't show in the lower level - unless you are getting your UDX , etc - the regs are pretty good at spelling it out.

    Found it, finally...

    OPTIONAL TITLING CLASSES

    1. Three optional titling classes have been developed from current regulations:

    Graduate Novice
    Graduate Open
    Versatility

    3. Are there any prerequisites required to enter my dog in these classes?
No – A dog may be entered in these classes without any pre-title requirement.

Once a dog has earned the Graduate Novice or Graduate Open titles, they may no longer compete in the titled class.
Once a dog has earned the Versatility title, it may continue to compete in that class indefinitely.

Yup, you answered your own question. In the the "traditional" classes, you do have to go in a particular order (CD/CDX/UD/UDX....) but for the newer classes, there is no particular order.
