Let's see, since August I've run 3 hunt tests (3 for 3 both dogs) and did 2 weekends of obedience w/ the same 2 dogs...finished a RN, a RA, a CD and progress toward CDX and another RA.
I'll be starting "puppy boot camp" (serious obedience for field work) w/ the 6 mos old probably this weekend.
In 2 weeks I'll have one back in the agility ring, and a couple weeks after that I'll have 2 running.
And now that my hay is baled and off (as of last night, yea!), my field will be clean so I can get back to some SH handling work w/ a couple.
Darned apple work has put a damper on training so that will improve. Anne
anne as you get back to the serious work don't forget the serious updates

Nothing new here. Our next trial isn't until the beginning of November.
I have acutally given up on Emilu in Open - we had 2 shows in one day 2 weekends ago , she missed her DOR becauses there was a piece of paper right where the judge wanted her to drop, she stopped and looked at it- looked at me, and I think, forgot what she was supposed to do - judge waited quite awhile and I finally gave her a second command. It was the afternoon show that did us in. I actually thought that we had Q'ed, and so did everyone watching us - we didn't Q and I asked the judge why - she said (nicely) that Emilu's heeling was atrocious, and that she wouldn't have even passed her in Novice A. Emilu heeled just like she always does - pretty horribly, but she has never not Q'd because of heeling. I know that I am very embarrassed to be with her in the ring during the heeling, but I keep a smile plastered on my face. - in fact - someone -and I don't even know who it was, mentioned in passing that they didn't know how I could keep smiling in the ring when she heels like that (I don't even think I knew the person -I think it was someone who goes to the same shows that we do) So, I decided (with much boo-hooing during the car ride home) that her showing days were over - she is 7 and her heeling really isn't going to get much better. However - she probably will show in rally again next year because I want to be able to take Baxter to shows and get used to them, so Emilu is going to have to show a little more.
