Emilu and I are going to try once again for that elusive Open Q. We are in 2 shows this weekend (closest show we go to). First, we are working around a shoulder limp that crops up every once in a while, and now she has a hot spot on her front foot! It is very obvious, about the size of a large pea. I can't remember what the rules are about "wounds and things" Can she show with a hot spot on her foot? I'll crap if I have to forfeit 2 days of show fees.
I didn't see anything in the regs about sores, hot spots, etc. As soon as it finishes loading, I'll add the link.
eta- link to the regs. Section 17 covers disqualifications, ineligibility, excusal and change in appearance of dogs.

The dogs cannot be lame or have stitches. The area can be shaved. I have seen dogs compete after surgery or US that were shaved.
