Saturday I showed both boys at an outdoor trial. The weather was cold, windy with some rain. Caleb anticipated the second part of the directed jumping but other than that had another nice Utility run going. He did fine in Open and even held his sit again. We placed third--there was a run off between my friend with her Belgian Sheepdog and a wonderful lady, Jan, with her OTCh Golden. Linda won the run off and got her first ever High In Trial! I am so thrilled for her.

As for Micah. Oh my goodness!!!! Granted it was rainy and the ground smelled oh so good. Let's just say it was not his best Pre-Novice run, nor his worse in some ways. But he did manage to lift his leg on the down and mark while on the down. I could not believe it! For a green dog, it was a tough venue--the breed people use the area as a potty area the night before the show. Even some of the more seasoned dogs had problems with it.

So, now we're going to parks and and doing a lot of heeling and downs in strange places. Oh that boy of mine!

LOL, that must have been pretty funny to see him doing that laying down!

I'm surprised the show set up an obedience ring in a potty area, what are they thinking??? That's really not very fair.

It's a small GSD specialty and they set things up after the breed people come to the hotel. It's just a one day show and they set up that morning. The only reason they have a decent entry is all the local Open and Utility B people who enter it. It was a hoot seeing Micah do it. Leave it to Mic!

Susan - I saw that Jan lost the run off. How great that your friend Linda beat her only because Jan has lots of HIT and HC's Everyone should get the chance for an HIT at least once in their pup's OB career. Funny about Micah. That takes some coordination and desire. B
