blue background (more flash, can lighten photos abit more if necessary). Rocky really really does not like holding his hind legs that far back! he deserves a special treat after that (or I just let him eat all those ones on the ground there!)

Personally, I would use the outdoor photo from the top for his side photo, and the red backdrop with him facing you for his head shot .. I wouldn't worry about tuck or anything, they aren't looking at him as a show dog, but whether he is clearly a labrador - which he obviously is.
IMO, the indoor shots just don't show him clearly enough. Too bad you're in Ottawa, I would come over and help![]()

I'll see tonight...outdoors isn't very "nice" right now (not weather wise but it is ice/snow/dirt pile!) Or just wait until the weekend and take a walk during the day for some better "scenery" (though he'd have to have a leash on because of the "laws" so not sure THAT is better??)
Does your camera have a timer? Maybe you can set the camera on delay, then move in front of him and keep his head up and focussed, with you just out of camera range.
Park benches are about dog height, and for the 10-20 seconds of the camera, I'm sure no one will notice lack of leash![]()
I would use the ones in front of the red blanket, and maybe include the outdoor one from the side as a bonus.![]()

I went with this one - a show lab he is not LOL! we'll see if they accept the photo (and my submission overall). wish his front paws were more underneath him though!
